Eva Sleap Rector

Eva Fridy was born on July 25, 1976, in
Spartanburg South Carolina, to Thomas Augustus Fridy III and Patricia Marie Gotautas. As a child, she enjoyed reading, babysitting, and swimming. She loved spending time with her grandparents, especially her grandaddy, Thomas Augustus Friday II, "Big Tommy". In 1994, She graduated from Dorman High School and enlisted in the United States Navy. She served from 1994 to 2000. After leaving the Navy, she became a 911 dispatcher. She married Paul Rector in December 2002, and became Eva Rector. Paul had two children from a previous marriage, Stephen Paul and Audrey Elizabeth Rector, whom Eva accepted as her own. On March 24, 2006, Isabella Grace Rector was born. And on July 19, 2008, Eva's son, Silas Henry Rector, was born. In her later life, Eva assisted the disabled and helped the elderly. She enjoyed anything with a gnome on it, loved all things broadway, and had never lost her love of reading. On December 12, 2024, Eva, at home with her younger son, leapt through her earthly bounds and into our savior's loving grasp. Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 21st, 2024, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. She is survived by her children, Silas, Isabella, Steven, and Audrey Rector, as well as her mother, Pat Gotautas, her sister, Anna Fridy, and her sister in spirit, Heather Calvert (nèe Page). She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas August Fridy III.
