Eva Lou Rosenbaum, age 79, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at her home. She was born January 27, 1947, to the late Frank Lee Moore and Nola Blanche Surber Moore in Damascus, Va.
She had a passion for NASCAR races, which she enjoyed attending with her husband. She also cherished fishing as a beloved pastime. A gifted conversationalist, she had a wonderful ability to connect with people and form meaningful relationships.
In addition to her parents, Eva was also preceded in death by her daughter, Nola Vivian "Sis" Hoggard; seven siblings; and a son-in-law, Richard "Rick" Jenkins.
She was a devoted homemaker and housewife to her loving husband of 63 years, Charles James "Boogie" Rosenbaum, Jr.; three children, Rhonda Jenkins and husband, David, of Chesapeake, Va.; Yada Callanan of the home; and Charles James Rosenbaum, III and wife, Tammy, of Lynchburg, Va.; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Sharon, Alex, Kayla, Kelsey, Rachel, and Reed; and devoted Shih Tzu, Oreo, who faithfully remained by her side until her final breath.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Alison Whitman as she demonstrated God's amazing grace to Eva through her compassionate care over the past 18 years.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
