Eva "Ruby" Gerringer McAlister

Mrs. Eva “Ruby” Gerringer McAlister, 76, of Elon, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

Ruby was born July 17, 1946 in Alamance County to Pollard Milton Gerringer and Alma Fitts Gerringer.  She was married to her devoted husband, Larry, for 59 years.  She retired from Impact Fulfillment Services of Burlington after 15 years as manager of the accounting department.  She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church where she served as co-treasurer for 10 years.  Ruby was also a member of Irene Lees Sunday School class and member of Ladies Fellowship.  She and her sister delivered Meals on Wheels every month.  Ruby enjoyed gardening and canning and preparing meals for her family on weekends.  Her family and extended family was her life.  She was a faithful devoted Christian and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Larry McAlister of the home; daughter, Connie Trollinger (Michael); son, Jason McAlister; grandsons, Eric Trollinger and Prince Trollinger; great-grandaughter, Karmen Moore; sister, Dazel Oakley; sister-in-law, Peggy Gerringer; 8 special nieces and one special nephew; and 27 precious great and great-great nieces and nephews.  Ruby was very close to all her nieces and nephews and loved them all very much.  They all hold a special place in her heart.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Theresa (Pete) Hamlett; and brother, Nathanial Bruce Gerringer.

A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 3 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 1 PM – 2:45 PM prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service at Shallow Ford Christian Church Cemetery.
