Eva Delle Staley

Eva Delle Staley, 91, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Meritus Medical Center.
Born Monday, March 28, 1932 in Warrenton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Edwin A. Scott and the late Mabel G. (Ballard) Scott. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Jackson Staley.
Eva was employed with St. Lawrence Cement for 32 years retiring in 1994. She was also employed with the Washington County Department of Social Services for five years. After retirement along with her family they owned and operated Barnwood and Northwood Book Stores in Hagerstown and Chambersburg. She volunteered at the Food Bank and Hospice of Washington County. Eva enjoyed playing golf and tennis with her grandsons and her long time friends. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Washington Wizards fan and enjoyed watching tennis and bird watching.
She is survived by her daughters, Paula A. McNeal and JoAnne Papa (Fred); brothers, Eddie Scott and Moe Scott; grandchildren, Jamie Rice, Scottie Rice (Jenna) and Trevor Hullinger (Staci); great grandchildren, Emelin Scott Rice, Beckman Wheeler Rice, Arlen McNeal Rice, Trey Daniel Hullinger and Brenna Kate Hullinger.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Bailey.
Services will be held privately with the family.
