EVALYN JOSIE CROFF
July 1st 1939 - November 27th 2023
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of my wife, friend, mother, grandmother, daughter of Christ.
She was married to Paul Lee Croff for 65 years. The mother of two sons, Russell (Tammy) and Steven (Connie), she had 4 grandchildren. Joshua Geisler (Jessica), Darby Croff, Michael Croff & Chloe' Croff. A great grandmother to Keely, Kira and Cade.
Evalyn attended First Baptist Church in Oxford and enjoyed being involved in the Bible Studies, Playing the piano, Secret Sisters & working in the infant room.
Her hobbies included quilting, needle point, crocheting, and painting, baking, gardening, reading & playing the piano. Paul and Evalyn enjoyed camping together. They went to their property in the Upper Peninsula at North Shoe Lake at least yearly. They gardened together. He turned the earth and she made it grow. She enjoyed her dogs and their home in Oxford. They often picnicked at the pond or garden and enjoyed all they had.
Evalyn shared her gifts with her grandchildren. She worked with them on songs at the piano. They learned to make her favorite fruit turnovers and her cube steak. She worked with her granddaughters trying to teach them to sew and crochet. She also included the grandsons in cooking, painting and puzzles. Later in life things turned around and the grandchildren helped her with her i-phone, exercises, sharing their dog & doing her hair.
She had many friends early in life. Most recently her special girlfriends held dear in her heart were Barbara Kraus, Carolyn Kelly, and Betty Ruperd.
She shared with our family how much fun she had talking and texting with them. She told stories of their shenanigans shopping, crafting and laughing together. They shared books and patterns.
Evalyn was strong in her faith and ready to meet our Creator. She was happy with her life and wouldn't want any of us to be sad. Enjoy your memories and share your stories.
Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 3-5 PM with a funeral service at 5 PM. Interment will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Oakwood.
