Evan Orville Christian, 84, of York Center, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the Memorial Hospital of Union County, following a brief illness. Born on July 7, 1941, in Oak Hill, he was a proud graduate of Byhalia High School, class of 1959.
Evan dedicated his career to the trades, serving as a pipefitter and maintenance technician. His professional journey included esteemed positions with Sprinkler Associates, Tecumseh Products in Marion, and ultimately, Honda Transmissions in Russells Point, where he was known for his expertise and dedication until his retirement. Evan also honorably served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965, a chapter of his life that showcased his commitment to service.
A kind and generous man, Evan had a remarkable ability to connect with others; he never met a stranger. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be profoundly missed. His passions included collecting and restoring classic T-Bird cars, particularly models from the years 1955 to 1957. He was a longstanding member of the Classic Thunderbird Club International, with a proud membership that spanned over 50 years.
Evan is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Judy Christian; his loving sisters, Sharon (Russell) Marsh, Diana (Ronnie) Clyborn, and Margo Furer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evan Otis and Vesta (Barnhart) Christian.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel, 222 W Center St. West Mansfield. Graveside services will follow at York Cemetery on Tuesday with Jack Knox officiating, beginning at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
