Ninnette S. Sprouse, 78, of Raymond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 surrounded by loved ones, following several months of failing health.
A devoted wife, loving mother, sister, and aunt, she was a wonderful homemaker for her husband and sons. A 1965 graduate of Byhalia-York High School, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Born March 12, 1947 in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Harry Willis and Helen Rosette (Bigelow) Phipps. On January 11, 1968 at the church parsonage in York Center, she married her husband of over 49 years, John W. Sprouse, and he preceded her in death on August 24, 2017. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny Willis Sprouse and a sister, Beverly Shelton.
Ninnette is survived by her son, Michael Sprouse of Raymond; a sister, Marlene (Matt) Smith; a brother, Marvin (Beth) Phipps; her nieces and nephews, Jessica, Melissa, Russell, Victoria, Stacy, Ronna, Brent and Jenny; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate Ninnette’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Burial will follow next to her husband at the York Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the UCBDD (Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities), in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
