It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evan Givan, beloved brother, friend, and cherished soul to all who knew him. Evan was born on February 14, 1988, and departed from us on June 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories.

As a child, Evan found joy in the simple thrill of skateboarding, spending countless hours mastering tricks and cruising through the streets with his friends. His love for skateboarding was more than just a hobby—it was a testament to his adventurous spirit and youthful exuberance.

As he grew older, Evan discovered new passions that resonated deeply with the person he was. He developed a love for fishing, finding solace in the peaceful waters and the quiet moments spent casting a line. Whether it was a crisp morning by the lake or an evening spent under the setting sun, he felt most at home in nature.

Another cherished interest of Evan’s was his appreciation for firearms. He admired the craftsmanship and history behind them and valued the skill and responsibility that came with their use. For him, this was not just an interest but a way to connect with others who shared his respect for tradition and precision.

Evan is survived by his brother, Andrew Black; sister-in-law, Brandy; niece, Ella; sister, Andrea Dewees; brother-in-law, Dave; nephews, Dominic and Grant; aunt, Chris Bower; uncle, Keith; aunt, Janine Day; uncle, Russ; and half-brother, Matthew. Evan was preceded in death by his parents, Eileen and Gary Givan.

Though Evan may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on forever in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Evan. May you forever find calm waters to fish, open skies to explore, and infinite joy in the hearts of those who loved you.

Details regarding the celebration of Evan’s life will be shared at a later time.
