Evangeline "Vangie" was born on August 19, 1954 in Davao City in the Philippines to Petronilo Sr. and Elena (Dela Gente) Alcain. She attended Des Moines Area Community College for accounting where she landed on the Dean's list. Vangie was married to Delbert L. Hussman. To this marriage they had three beautiful children. Vangies biggest focus in life was her faith and children. You could find her always looking for opportunities to help others. Her seamstress skills were used professionally and a way to serve the church or others. Vangie asked Jesus Christ to be her savior while living with the Howells, a missionary couple in the Philippines. In spite of battling several serious health issues, her determination was to see Joshua and Amanda pursue and develop their dreams. Vangie and the family wished to express special gratitude to Suncrest Hospice, nurse Anthony, Dr. Loreen Herwaldt, and Jody with Option Care Health for their compassionate care.
She is survived by her two children, Josh Hussman of Perry, IA, Amanda Hussman of Sioux Center, IA, formerly of Perry, IA, mother, Elena Alcain, three sisters, Janette, Marilyn, Yujanidi, 5 brothers; Cyrus, Jasher, Petronilo Jr., Socrates, Erastolino, several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Petronilo Sr., husband, Delbert Hussman, and one son, Christopher Hussman.
