Evangeline MOELLER

1926 - 2025

July 3, 1926 - April 4, 2025

Spokane - Vange Moeller passed away peacefully in her home on April 4, 2025, surrounded by her immediate family. Born in Davenport, WA, on July 3, 1926, her family moved to Ritzville when she was 16, when her father accepted the call to be Pastor at Emmanuel Lutheran Church there. An RHS graduate of 1944, she received her bachelor's degree in music from Pacific Lutheran College in 1948. That same year she married Orville Moeller and settled into farm life for the next 23 years, raising three children.

Ever active in her local church, she played organ for over 25 years, first in Ritzville and later in Almira. She worked in the Adams County hospital office, and at Hanson's Gift and Floral shop in Ritzville. In 1976, they moved to Almira, WA, and later to Moses Lake, where she worked at Security Pacific Bank for 13 years. Upon her parents' passing in 1990, she moved into their house in Spokane and worked at the Sterling Savings (now Umpqua) South Hill branch, reluctantly retiring at the age of 86. She sang in the choir at St. Mark's Lutheran Church and gladly volunteered in their office until she could no longer drive at the age of 90.

Always a person who loved the company of others, she will be most remembered for her bright disposition, hospitality, kindness, and generosity. She is survived by her younger brother, Armand Ahrendt; daughter, Sandy Heupel; son, Jim Moeller (all living in Spokane); five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 15 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church in North Spokane on Saturday, June 14, at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her name to Hospice of Spokane.
