Evangeline Wade, daughter of the late Arthur Wright and Zelma (O’Guin) Wright was born on November 3, 1929 at Commerce, Missouri and departed her life on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 95 years.
She attended Commerce Grade School and graduated from Benton High School in Benton, Missouri. Mrs. Wade was a former employee for many years at Buckner Ragsdale Company in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and after they closed was employed by Rust and Martin in Cape. She was a member of the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton where she serviced on the St. Denis Home and School board. She enjoyed tallying the collections in church along with being a member of the Scott County Historical Society.
On November 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to Charles Byron Wade Jr. in Benton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2020.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Wade III of Cairo, Illinois and James (Linda) Wade of Benton, Missouri; one daughter, Lisa (Randy) Vetter of New Hamburg, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jeremy Wade, Wendy (Chris) Holt, Chris (Greta) Vetter, and Justin (Kristina) Vetter; also, by nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephew.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Cleo Wright, Leo Wright, and Gary Wright; two sisters, Ruby Varnon and Viola Williams; also, by one great grandson, Nick Holt.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June, 25, 2025 from 8:30 until 10:00 AM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. Funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM in the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton with Rev. Daniel Belkin officiating with Rev. Normand Varone assisting. Interment will follow in the Forrest Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery near Morley.
