Robert Wade

Robert (Bob) Wade, child of God, entered the Church Triumphant on February 14, 2026, with Ann at his side. Born to the Reverend R.H. and Alma Jones Wade on April 11, 1935, Bob was a graduate of Atherton High School (1953) and held degrees from the University of Louisville and Indiana University (EdD). A lifelong educator, he taught high school chemistry in Owensboro, supervised student teachers for Murray State University, and was Director of Training and Education for the Baptist Hospitals in Louisville for several years. In later years he also did motivational speaking.

Bob belonged to St. Paul UMC for several decades and was a current member of Second Presbyterian Church. He was a loyal choir member and chaired committees at both churches.

Bob loved classical and church music, animals, interior design, talking, and most of all, Ann.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Margaret Colbert. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Ann Colbert Wade; his brother-in-law Hugh Colbert; his nephew Morgan Colbert (Kelli) and their children Hannah and Samuel; several cousins; and fur babies Precious and Emmy.

The family is grateful to the staff of Forest Springs Health Campus for their loving care of Bob over the past year.

The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on February 23, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church, 9212 Taylorsville Road, Louisville KY 40299, with visitation at 11:30 am. Burial at Cave Hill Cemetery follows the service.
