Evelio Berrios, was born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico on May 10, 1951. He was adventurous and mischievous, always climbing and exploring all over the island with family and friends, always ready to have a good time.
Evelio was loved and friendly to everyone he met. He enjoyed being out and about with los compis, having a blast. Growing up, his life was not easy, but he never let that stop him.
After marrying, Antonia, in 1976, they explored New York and New Jersey together for two years before having their children, Elio and Elsa. He shared his love for salsa music and cooking strange, made-up recipes that surprisingly turned out pretty good. His love for Westerns, wrestling, and action movies never faded.
Whenever we think of our father, we see him proudly nodding and smiling at us. We carry with us the memories especially the sweet and funny ones, not the hardships he endured over time.
We are thankful for our father’s love and for how much he adored his granddaughter Ashley, whom he called his Queen
His life had ups and downs, but he always had an incredible support system. People were always ready to help and care for him, just as he had helped so many others in their times of need.
He will always be loved and terribly missed, forever.
With love,
Antonia, Elsa, Elio, and Ashley.
