Evelyn Baisden Obituary
Evelyn Rockel Baisden, 76 of Verdunville, WV departed this life Sunday, September 28, 2025 at her home.
She was born May 9, 1949 at Naugatuck to the late Nettie (Marcum) and Noah Thomas Rockel. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henderson Baisden Jr., stepfather, Don Porter; father and mother-in-law, Henderson and Lucille Baisden; sisters-in-law, Kathy Rockel and Pat Browning; brothers-in-law, Bobby Baisden, Thomas Baisden, Roger Ray Baisden, Riley Browning, and Harold McCloud; niece, Tracy Baisden, and nephew, Thomas Michael Browning.
Evelyn graduated from Logan High School in 1967 and attended Marshall University and the Ralph R. Willis Vocational School for LPN’s where she graduated in 1994. She married Henderson Baisden Jr., the love of her life on June 2, 1970 and they spent 53 years together until his death in December 2023. She worked for Bray & Oakley Insurance Agency as an agent for 40+ years until her retirement in 2015.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lisa Ann Baisden (Jimmy Baxter); granddaughters, Keisha (Brian) Montgomery and Emily (Derek Meade) Jeffrey; great-grandsons, James “JJ” Barker and Reed Barker; great-granddaughter, Quinn Ann Jeffrey; sister, SueAnn (Ronald) Adams; brothers, Ernest Rockel and Don Douglas Porter; sister-in-laws, Norma McCloud and Diana (Eddie) Canterbury; brother-in-law, Joe (Sara) Baisden, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Honoring her wishes her remains have been cremated and there will be no services.
