Evelyn Climo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Jun. 5, 2025.
Evelyn Anne Climo, 95, of Hingham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Boston on August 29, 1929, to Patrick and Angelina Guarino, who migrated from Naples, Italy, Evelyn was one of seven children. She was a cherished sister to Johnny, Vinny, Patrick, Buddy, Theresa, and Dorothy. From a young age, it was clear that family meant everything to her.
At just 18, Evelyn married Fred, the love of her life. They shared an incredible 69 years of marriage together, building a beautiful family and a life filled with joy. Their shared love for dancing made them jitterbug champions, and they delighted in entertaining friends and family, especially on their boat, the My Way. As "snowbirds" in Florida, they continued their tradition of warm hospitality, always welcoming loved ones to their home. Together, they raised five children: Deborah A. Foresta and her husband Thomas of Rockland, Ellen D. Edwards of Rockland, Frederick T. Climo, III and his wife Elizabeth of Bridgewater, and Patrick E. Climo and his fiancée Stephanie Hladky of Marshfield. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert P. Climo and her cherished grandson Jeffrey M. Foresta. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Evelyn was the irreplaceable matriarch of the Climo family. Her greatest passion was her family and taking care of others. As a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was always there for anyone who needed her. She was never happier than when she had a baby in her arms, and when asked who she loved best, she'd always say, the person who needed her the most at that time. Proud of her Italian heritage, Evelyn loved to cook, greeting everyone at the door with an offer of food – you never left her house hungry. Whether she was preparing her famous cutlets, simmering her sauce, shopping at Filene's, or making sandwiches on the My Way, everything she did revolved around her family. She made sure everyone knew just how much she loved them.
Beyond her family, tennis was Evelyn's passion. She enjoyed playing at the Millpond and in Florida, where she forged many lifelong friendships. Even at 80, she was still a formidable opponent on the court, giving younger generations a run for their money.
Though Evelyn has passed on, the beautiful legacy of love, family, and warmth she created will continue to resonate for generations to come.

My condolences to the family. Uncle Junior just told me ! I just got home from Israel. Many decades of memories. Great times back in the 50's in Rockland. Auntie Evelyn was the kindest, most caring, compassionate and hospitable person.

To Debbie and Ellen and Patrick your mother was the greatest person I've ever known. Her smile would light the room. I enjoyed her company and getting to hear her stories about her her life. I took so good care of her every day. I was always there for her. I always did my best and to fulfill all her needs through our the day. She was a remarkable and strong woman. She loved her own family and that meant the world to her. She was a wife and a mother and a great grandmother she was one of kind. She had such a big heart she had big dreams. She always told me that she cared about me a lot . I will always hold a special piece in my heart for her. She was very special and dear to my heart. God bless all her children and her family during the difficult days ahead. May the grace of God help them every day that there mothers was everyone hero. She always appreciated everything we did for her . She will be missed by me lots . It's hard to walk into her room and realize that she's not coming back. I wish I could hear her voice and tell her one more time that I love you. Its sad for me because I was very close to her . I will cherish all the memories I had with her . She lived a good life. I truly loved her family. They were all by her side every day. Bringing in her favorite food she love. Or telling stories about the grandkids. She loved people. One thing I will always remember for the rest of my life. The acknowledgement from the family I know at times it can be very sad but when there son Patrick gave me a hug that day and told me what he said to me it meant the world to me. He hugged me like the last time I hug my brother before he passed away. May God lift the spirit up high and God bless everyone who loved Evelyn . Love always Connie.
