Evelyn Dail Obituary

Evelyn "Carol" Pratt Dail

October 16, 1945 - February 21, 2026

Evelyn Carol Pratt Dail, 80, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at Beacon Place in Greensboro, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born October 16, 1945, in Greensboro to Charles and Evelyn Pratt. She attended Guilford County schools and later UNC Wilmington.

For more than 60 years, she shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Herman Graham Dail. Together they shared an extraordinary love story centered on faith, family, and service. Carol was an active member of Alamance Presbyterian Church for over 35 years, serving as a church officer and faithfully supporting its mission. Her life reflected her deep commitment to God, family & community.

Carol worked with the Guilford County March of Dimes before establishing a long career as a real estate professional. In 2008, she retired to become a full time "Ahma" & caregiver for her newborn granddaughter, Kennedy. Her grandchildren, Raynor, Connor and Kennedy, were the greatest joy of her life.

Carol was also a gifted artist who found beauty in everyday moments. Carol loved bird watching, spending quiet hours observing and appreciating God's creation and journaling. She had a beautiful singing voice and brought warmth and joy to those who were blessed to hear her sing or see her beautiful smile.

Carol is survived by her husband, Graham; her sons, Rick (Sara) and Geoff (Brandy); her grandchildren, Raynor, Connor and Kennedy; her sister, Penny Barham (Clay) and her brother, Michael Pratt (Vicky). She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ret. Col. Frank (Suzie) and Charlie (Dee) Pratt.

A service of remembrance will be held at Alamance Presbyterian Church, 4000 Presbyterian Road, Greensboro, at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Kallam Grove Christian Church at 1390 Gold Hill Rd., Madison, NC.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to AuthoraCare and Beacon Place Hospice, Heritage Greens, Alamance Presbyterian Church and Kallam Grove Christian Church for their loving support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol's memory to the organizations above or to The Alzheimer's Association.
