Evelyn was born October 23, 1933 on Bon Air Mountain to the late Homer Floyd and Minnie Elizabeth Mitchell Sapp.
Evelyn graduated from White County High School in 1951 and worked many years at the Sparta Shirt Factory until she met her husband, Morris Demps, at a gospel singing. She was a dedicated Christian and served her Lord faithfully. She was an active member of the Cherry Creek Community where she lived after she and Morris married. She loved her Cherry Creek friends and neighbors very much.
She was an amazing seamstress and sewed many beautiful things over the years. She loved to crochet, knit, decorate cakes, and do just about any kind of craft. No challenge was too big for her.
