Obituary of Evelyn Elizabeth DiGregorio
Evelyn Elizabeth DiGregorio, 87, of Howell passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She was born and raised in Newark and moved to Fort Lee before settling here in Howell in 1974. Evelyn was a woman of strong faith and attended Catholic school and later became a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine.
After high school, she was awarded a full scholarship and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Upon graduating, she was employed at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City designing children's clothing lines. She left all of this behind to marry the love of her life and start her family. She would go on to have three boys that were at the center of everything she did and absolutely her greatest joy.
Evelyn was the glue that held her family together. She worked alongside her husband, Angelo, running the farm business which would eventually become Twin Pond Farm Garden Center and Country Market. Evelyn worked hard behind the scenes for many years taking produce orders, generating payroll, and keeping the books while also taking care of her family. She was an incredibly talented artist and used her skills in their business to do many things such as creating the logo and adding the many touches that make the store so inviting.
Most people would know Evelyn from her years working at the farm stand on Adelphia Road. She truly enjoyed talking with her customers and giving advice on how to cook the fresh vegetables she sold. She took great pride in cooking delicious meals for her family, friends, and neighbors, and when you left her house, you left full. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed beyond measure.
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Angelo and Adela Sargente; brother, Mario; and sisters, Helen, Dorothy, and Gloria. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Angelo DiGregorio; three sons, George DiGregorio and his wife, Jennifer, Gary DiGregorio and his wife, Renee, and Christopher DiGregorio and his wife, Christina, all of Howell; and ten grandchildren, Natalie, Peter, Thomas, Robert, Peyton, Travis, Clara, Lindsay, Kyle, and Jacob.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, November 17, 2025 in the Chapel at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert of Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will be private. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to any of Howell Township's First Responders.
