Evelyn R. Gravino

Evelyn Rose Gravino (Rapp) passed away on August 13, 2023, at the age of 84. Evelyn was born in the Bronx on September 21, 1938, to Margaret Barry Rapp and Edward Rapp. She was Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Michael J. Gravino, in addition to her two sisters Lynne Starr-Post and Georgiana Rapp Farrelly. Evelyn is survived by her daughter Meg Gravino Doherty, son-in-law Peter M. Doherty and granddaughter Brooke E. Doherty.
Evelyn was born and raised in the Bronx and graduated from Cathedral High School. Michael and Evelyn were married in St. Raymond's church in the Bronx in 1962. They lived in New Jersey for nine years before coming to White Plains, NY in 1971. Where they became an essential part of the White Plains community.
Evelyn raised her daughter and volunteered at St. Anthony's school for many years before going back to work. She started work in 1984 at the White Plains Board of Education where she worked as a transportation coordinator and an accountant until her retirement.
Evelyn and her husband spent many happy years camping all around the United States. They were avid members of the FMCA and enjoyed hosting many camping rallies. The times spent with her camping family were very dear to her. Twelve years ago, she had found a new way to enjoy her time. She loved every moment she spent with her granddaughter Brooke.
Viewing will be held at McMahon's Funeral Home in White Plains on August 15, 2023, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church on August 16, 2023, at 10:00am followed by the Gate of Heaven cemetery.
