Evelyn "Diane" Gregory, 81, of Gallatin, passed away in Hendersonville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Born July 20, 1943, in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late John Elvin Anderson and Mamie Beasley Woodard Anderson. Diane's life was marked by a deep love for her family, and she will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to those she cherished.
Diane celebrated a fruitful 30-year career as a stylist, sharing her talent and passion at esteemed establishments including Fountain of Youth, Morrison's Hair Design, Off Broadway Designs, and concluding her hairstyling journey at Reflections. Although retirement beckoned, Diane's nurturing spirit led her back into the workforce, this time dedicating herself to child care. For 15 years, she lovingly cared for children at Small World Daycare and Elite Education, ultimately retiring once more to enjoy the fruits of her labor.
Education was a cornerstone in Diane's life. After graduating from Gallatin High School as part of the Class of 1961, she pursued further studies at Ann's Beauty College in Gallatin, where she acquired her cosmetology license, marking the beginning of her impactful career.
Diane held a profound love and strong faith in God. At the tender age of 11, in 1954, she was saved by the grace of God. She joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and was baptized at the water's edge, remaining a devoted member of the Lord's church throughout her life.
Known for her warm and loving personality, Diane never met a stranger. Her ability to connect with others was a hallmark of her character, allowing her to make lasting impressions on those she encountered and contributing to her success in both her styling and childcare careers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Rodger Gregory and her stepson Christopher Gregory.
As a devoted mother, Diane leaves behind her sons Troy (Susan Gifford) Goad and Chad (Lisa) Adcock, alongside her daughter, Cherl (Laurent) Cros. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Hannah Gregory, Jaden Gregory, Junior Gregory, Hayes Fleming, Lawren Fleming, Copeland Fleming, Carter Adcock, Morgan (Josh) Green, Hunter (Jordyn) Goad, Lindsey (Jordan Estes) Lee, and Gabrielle Cros. Diane was also proud to have great-grandchildren, Marcus, Isaiah, Rylee, Rylan, Rowen, Emery, Ella, Brynn, and Collier, who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
