Evelyn Mary Heinrich

Evelyn Mary Heinrich, 84 of Hastings, passed away on March 17, 2025, at United Hospital in St Paul, MN.
Born to Cliff and Hilda (Doelling) Rogers, Evelyn was born in Andrew Iowa. She was the daughter of a Presbyterian minister which led them to various churches in Iowa Missouri, South Dakota and Minnesota. Evelyn's love for children led her to pursue a career in education. Evelyn graduated from high school in Windom, Minnesota and she furthered her education at Maryville College in Tennessee. There, she earned a bachelor's degree in teaching. Evelyn devoted herself to the education of young minds, beginning her journey in a North St. Paul public school, and later, making a meaningful impact on the students at New Life Academy in Woodbury, MN. She taught mainly sixth graders for 19 years.
Evelyn's life was transformed when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She found great joy in studying the scriptures and taught others regularly leading many women's studies over two decades. Evelyn particularly enjoyed teaching lessons from the book of Revelation and the return of Jesus Christ.
Evelyn was enchanted by the majesty of the mountains and found joy in her treasured hobby of searching for agates, driftwood, and wildflowers - a testament to her appreciation for natural beauty. Her zest for life was infectious, and Evelyn embraced every opportunity to explore, whether through extensive travels or simple day excursions. Evelyn truly believed in and modeled the biblical command to love one another. She cherished and supported her family wholeheartedly-her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson felt the magnitude of her love. Her love for her husband was very evident in the way she respected, nurtured and supported him for over 40 years. Upon marrying George, Evelyn wholeheartedly accepted and welcomed his daughter Lori as her own.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, George; sons, Tom (Lori) Robey of Northfield and Bill (Kristin) Robey of Woodbury; grandchildren, Matthew (Krista) Robey, Sarah Robey, Issac Robey and Luke Robey; great-grandson, Nathan Robey; and siblings, David (Elaine) Rogers of Aberdeen, SD, Ruth (Bob) Sheets of Maquoketa, IA, and Mary (Eric) Ritz of New Holland, PA. Preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Robey and her parents.
Memorials may be made to New Life Church in Woodbury or Samaritan's Purse.
Evelyn's funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at New Life Church, 6758 Bailey Road, Woodbury, MN 55129. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church and a reception will follow. Burial will be in Red Rose Cemetery, rural Northfield.
