Evelyn Elizabeth Jones, 95, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away at her residence on Thursday, April 25, 2024, following two years of declining health. She was born in Trion, Georgia on September 22, 1928, to the late Grady and Tiney Garrett Bryson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Norman Eugene Jones; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Bea Bryson, Jack and Joyce Bryson, Roland and Leona Bryson; sister and brother-in-law, Vennie Mae and Frank Knowles; daughter-in-law, Sheila Jones.
She is survived by her son, Randy Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Reva and Chester Utz; brother, Bill Bryson; grandchildren, Justin Utz, Nathan (Meghan) Utz, Caroline (Chris) Stephens, Sarah (Michael) Rigdon, Tyler (Amanda) Jones; great-grandchildren, Ava Utz, Jason Jones, Callie Rigdon, Cayden Rigdon, Graham Stephens; sisters-in-law, Frances Jones Dale, Sheila Jones Camp; special friends, Patsy Pass, Brenda Worley, Imojean Jackson, Lindsey Jackson, and Nellie Cook; nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Homespun Hospice, especially Nealey, Alyssa, David, Chelsea, and caregivers Jessica, Brenda, and Barbara.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Echota Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 3:00 PM from Echota Baptist Church with Dr. Lucas Butler and Tyler Jones officiating. The Bryson family will be in charge of music. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Michael Langston, Craig Long, Lindsey Jackson, Tyler Jones, Michael Rigdon, and Justin Utz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Echota Baptist Church, 35 College Cir, Calhoun, Georgia, 30701.The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Evelyn Elizabeth Jones.
