She pursued higher education with vigor, earning her bachelor's degree from William Paterson College and her master's degree in education from Harvard University. Her professional journey was marked by her commitment to students and public service. She began her career as a gifted and talented program educator in Pequannock, New Jersey, later becoming a science teacher and eventually serving as a principal. Evelyn's dedication to her community extended into public office. She served on the Pequannock Township Council for 8 years, serving as Mayor from 1984 to 1985 and as Deputy Mayor from 1986 to 1987. She was actively involved with many organizations, including the Pequannock Township Planning Board, Hands Across America, COPE, and many political organizations. She left a lasting impact on education and local government, advocating for fairness, equity, and excellence.
Beyond her professional life, Evelyn had a passion for travel and exploring new destinations. She also enjoyed reading and hiking. She found great joy in gardening, with a special fondness for her red raspberries. Evelyn was deeply devoted and exceptionally supportive of her children and grandchildren, consistently putting their needs before her own.
