My sincere condolences to the family of Evelyn. What a wonderful person to know, to listen to, and just to be around her to absorb a little of her abundance of goodness and energy. My husband, Kemmler and Johnny were members on the Board of the Building and Loan in Hammond. Once a year a small group would journey to an event or meeting in another state and my fondest memory of Evelyn was so much fun to remember. Along the way, we would stop at a local shopping or tourist attraction and believe me, the wheels had barely stopped when Evelyn would fling the door open and out she went to find something special she would later pass along to her friends. God Bless Her Soul and may she rest in peace.

Miss Stout was the heart throb of every 6th grade boy in 1953-54. We didn´t like the idea of Johnny Magee wooing her at all!

Sending condolences for the loss of your mother Jean. Miss McGee always had a contagious smile and a beautiful friendship with her St Paul family. My parents attended church with her and she taught my sister, Lorinda Girard Gourgeot in the 60´s. She was such a classy lady!! She was loved by many .
So sorry we will be out of town Friday.

To the family of Evelyn...I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Evelyn. She was a beautiful sweet person and my favorite teacher. My mother was working at D.H. Holmes in New Orleans on Canal Street when I was in her class. My mother was a makeup artist there and Evelyn would get her cosmetics from her. Max Factor was her favorite brand to put on her beautiful complexion. So many wonderful memories so long ago. She will be missed by all the lives she touched. My thoughts and prayers for the family.
Love, Marilou Sullivan

Former student of this first class lady, enjoyed visiting with her and her lunch group when they were able to get out and about. In later years my daughter became a teacher and got to meet this special lady and be in the same teacher's club as Ms. Evelyn. I would not attempt to count the many lives she touched, it would be to numerous.

I am truly honored to have had Mrs. Evelyn McGee as a mentor and a friend. She was a true southern lady who was just as pretty on the inside as she was on the outside. I loved her humor and enjoyed her stories. She will be missed.
