Mrs. Evelyn Marie Samson

Evelyn Marie Samson, 88, of Anderson passed from this life July 18, 2024, at 12:44 a.m. at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.
Evie Samson was born on April 1, 1936, in Perkasie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Nelson F. and Henrietta Herstein Hollenbach. She married Philip T. Samson.
Evie Samson had a tremendous love for children and enjoyed being a Nanny for over 30 years, the children she Nannied became like family. She lived in God's love and showed it to everyone. She always had homemade chocolate fudge and chocolate chip cookies available. She also enjoyed making homemade Christmas Stockings and playing Mrs. Claus to her Nanny children which affectionately called her Aunt Evie.
Evie Samson also enjoyed volunteering at Turning Point.
Survivors include her children, Daniel L. (Kathy) Heller of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Doreen (Steve) Savoldi of Cutler, Indiana, Deena Heller of Anderson, Indiana, and Deborah Ramsden of Manassas, Virginia; six grandchildren and their spouses; sister, Anita White; and multiple Nanny families and their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip T. Samson; infant son, Henry; and a brother, Nelson F. Hollenbach Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27th at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home at 4205 Jonathan Moore Pike, with Pastor Michael Hogg officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9:30 a.m. till time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Entombment will follow at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
In memory of Evie Samson memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
