Evelyn N. Smith, 91, of Westminster, MD passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at home.

She was born on November 29, 1934, in Baltimore, MD to the late Chase Weber and Evelyn (Wilder) Weber. She was the loving wife of the late Edward Joseph Smith who died on February 8, 2025.

Evelyn had a long career with Northrup Grumman (formerly Westinghouse), Linthicum for over 50 years. She was devout to her Catholic faith and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. Evelyn enjoyed making crafts and shopping and she loved animals.

She is survived by son Edward L. Smith, daughter and son-in-law Janet and Joseph Sansone, grandchildren Steven Sansone, Chase Smith, Christine Sansone, Haley Legere and Anna Adonnino and great-grandchildren Samantha, Caroline, Hannah, Madeleine, Reese and Amelia.

She was predeceased by daughter-in-law Pamela Smith and sisters Carolyn Silk and Joyce Sugg.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM on Monday, February 16, 2026 and from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday. Interment will follow in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.

Those desiring may make memorial donations to Gamber and Community Fire Company, 3838 Niner Road, Finksburg, MD 21048.

So sorry to hear of Evelyn's passing. I enjoyed talking with her at Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman in my many visits to Accounting. We still hang the handmade witch every Halloween that I bought from her I don't know how many years ago. Rest in Peace, Evelyn.
