VANDERSCHAAF, Evelyn E. (Jackson) – of Burton, MI, age 88, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Evelyn's Life will be held on a later date.
Evelyn was born in Beaverton, MI on April 26, 1935, daughter of the late Horace and Myra (Mavis) Jackson. She retired from AC Spark Plug after many years of service. Beyond the realms of work, Evelyn's passion for porcelain dolls was a source of joy for her and those around her. Her artistic touch and love for collecting these delicate treasures created a world of beauty that she shared with friends and family alike. Evelyn's heart also belonged to the feathered friends that brought melodies to her days. Her love for birds was evident in the way she cared for them, creating a harmonious haven within her home. An adventurous spirit, Evelyn embraced the thrilling world of motorcycle racing with gusto. For many years, she was an integral part of the racing community, forging lasting friendships and enjoying the exhilaration that the open road brought into her life. As we bid farewell to Evelyn, let us remember the laughter she shared, the love she bestowed, and the passions that defined her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration, and may her spirit continue to soar in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Evelyn. Evelyn is survived by 2 children, Nelson (Dena) Pearson and Ranee (Tim) Pearson; 2 grandchildren, Alicia Ratliff and Tony Pearson; 2 great-grandchildren, Clinton and Pierce; 3 siblings; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Myra Jackson; husband, James R. VanDerschaaf; granddaughter, Sarah Ratliff and 3 siblings.
