Mrs. Evelyn Haynie White, 96, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026 at University Nursing & Rehab Center, Athens GA.
Born on August 16, 1929 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie W. Haynie and Carrie Marett Haynie. Mrs. White was a retired seamstress for Hartwell Sports and a member of Milltown Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son: Calvin Norris of Hartwell; a sister; Mary Duskin of Anderson SC; two grandchildren: Brandon Norris & Evette Owens and a great-grandchild: Melody Owens also survive.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Frank S. White; a brother: Walt Haynie and two sisters: Sara Gurley and Dorothy Ballard.
Mrs. White wished to be cremated and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date by the family.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is assisting the family with all of the arrangements.
