Everett Diemer

Everett Diemer Jr., age 92, passed on to his home in Glory on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
Everett was born to Everett Sr. and Henrietta Diemer and raised in the Cutlerville area. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Linda, of 67 years; his children, Luanne (Ron) Venneman, Brian (Kerri) Diemer, Ellen (Todd) Mulder, Brent (Darla) Diemer, and Tomas and Rita Kosmak.
Everett has 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, two of whom we have yet to meet in February 2026; Kara (Josh) Meyering and their children Nolan Everett, Easton, Trevor (Michelle) Venneman and their children Porter, Myles, Halloway, Kelsey (Joel) Klingenberg and their children Rowan, Cambrie, Maesie; Kaitlin (Joe) Salowitz and their children, Asher, Cole Everett, Millie; McKenzie (Dave) Pluymert and their child Rory; Matt (Ashley) Diemer and their child Cade Everett; Nicole DeVries and her children, Adalyn, Brady; Jason (Britley) Mulder and their children Carson, Ezekiel (Zeke), Peyton; Jordan Everett (Holly) Mulder and their children, Everett (Rhett), Josie, Breslyn; Jaimie (Josh) Sinnema and their child Colton (Colt); Kayla (Blake) VerWoert and their children Brooks, Jett Everett; Tyler Everett (Cassie) Diemer and their baby Diemer coming Feb 2026; Sarah (Rich) Valenzuela and baby Valenzuela coming Feb 2026; and Annie.
Everett loved the Lord, his family and everyone he came in contact with. There were many times spent with family and friends at Gun Lake. These were special times for all! He loved water sports and could slalom ski holding the rope between his toes! In 1956 he started a business in landscaping because he couldn't work inside. Everett's Lawn Service evolved and grew over the years into Everett's Landscape Management Inc., which was sold to Everett and Linda's children in 1997. This third-generation business continues to thrive and is based on the core values and the example set by Everett.
Everett was an active member of his church, Cutlerville East CRC, where he was a charter member and served many terms as deacon and elder. Christian Education was dear to his heart and he served many terms on the School Board and Sports Boosters for Cutlerville Christian School and South Christian High School.
He was an avid sportsman and hunter with respect for animals and nature. His favorite outings were hunting with his boys, grandsons and granddaughter. There are many stories in this area of his life.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and participated in the atomic bomb testing in Nevada in 1955. He was a tank commander with the 723rd Tank Division.
The family welcomes relatives and friends to a visitation held at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St., S.E., Grand Rapids 49508, on Sunday, September 28th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of Everett's life will be held at Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church, 501 68th St., S.E., Grand Rapids 49548, on Monday, September 29th at 11 a.m., with a visitation prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Pastor Ed Visser will officiate. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Everett may be made to South Christian High School, Legacy Christian, Dutton Christian, Moline Christian or Grand Rapids Christian Schools.
