Everett Montanye Obituary

Milton, WI - Everett W. Montanye, 82, of Milton, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Edgerton Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 13, 1942, in Janesville, WI, to the late Robert and Aleta (Jordan) Montanye, Everett was a lifelong resident of the area, deeply rooted in his community.

A proud Redman, Everett graduated from Milton Union High School with the Class of 1960. His athletic prowess earned him the title of Most Valuable Wrestler. Everett possessed a quiet determination and a strong work ethic that would define his life.

Everett's professional journey began as an apprentice at the Janesville Gazette, where his dedication and skill propelled him to the role of journeyman typesetter. He later brought his expertise to the Wisconsin State Journal. Due to the strike at WSJ, he then transitioned to warehouse supervision at GK Carpet Supplies and ABC Supplies, before culminating his career running the print shop at Blackhawk Technical School, where he retired in 2010.

Everett's greatest joy, however, was his family. He married Sandra Bladorn, and they raised two children. He was always present at his children's and grandchildren's musical performances, and generously volunteered his time with the Green Beret Marching Band.

Everett found camaraderie and joy in his leisure time. He was an avid dart player and bowler, and he cherished his hunting trips. He also treasured the friendships forged at "Klub Bub." He was a man of simple pleasures, finding contentment in the company of his friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Everett is survived by his children: Fritz (Alycia) Montanye, Dawn Montanye; grandchildren: Ashley (Mathew) Dewey, Zane Przybyla; bonus great grandchildren: Kai and Lilia Dewey, siblings: Eugene De La Montagne, Rodney (Lynn) Montanye, Dennis (Faith) Montanye, Corine Montanye, Coleen (Don) Heinz, Dean (Adele) Montanye; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Albrecht Funeral Homes, Milton from 10 AM to 12 PM. www.albrechtfuneralhomes.com
