Everett Speaks Obituary
Shortly after he and Mary Lou married, he was drafted into the Army. Dean took pride in being a union carpenter most of his life. He moved to Oklahoma in 1981. Dean worked various construction jobs, from helping build 50 Penn Place to the Waterford Business Park and specialized in mahogany woodwork. He retired from the VA with over 20 years of service at the age of 82 and was adored by colleagues and friends.
His family was the most important part of his life. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Lillie Speaks, his five sisters and two brothers, and his wife, Mary Louise Speaks.
He is survived by his daughter Karen and husband Michael Anders, his granddaughter Leah and husband Doron Robinson, his granddaughter Lauren Anders, great-grandson Cameron Robinson, and great-granddaughter Rosie Robinson.
Viewing will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Barnes Friedrich & Pope Funeral Home.
