Everett Edward Wilson was born on June 26, 1925. He went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2024 at the age of 99. The oldest of 5 children, he was born into poverty in a one-room cabin in Dabney Arkansas to Charlie and Dovie Miller Wilson. During the Great Depression, his family moved to Parkdale Arkansas and worked as farm laborers. When both Charlie and Dovie became ill, the family went to live with Everett’s uncle, Will Miller. Together they farmed land in what is now Burns Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas until Everett was a teenager.

Everett served in the Navy on the Edward H. Allen during WWII. While on leave, he met his future wife, Ina Dell Wilson, while attending a church service with his cousin. They were married on June 9, 1945. Their marriage lasted 76 years until her death in 2022. Everett and Ina Dell had two children, Sharra Wilson Hampton and Everett Allen Wilson (Elizabeth). They were blessed with 4 grandchildren, Kara Armas (Brian), Karmin Kidd (Tom), Emily Thomas (Alex) and Colter Wilson. They were also blessed with 10 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

In the early years of his marriage, Everett built a home in Mabelvale, Arkansas where he continued to live until his death. He worked for the Cash Wholesale Company in Little Rock before becoming the construction manager for Schulte Construction Company. He went on to own his own successful business, Everett Wilson Construction Company, and eventually purchased back the very land in the Ozark Mountains on which he was born.

His children and grandchildren have fond memories of going to “Bobo’s Mountains,” riding 4 wheelers, fishing, hunting, staying up late watching VHS movies and waking up to the smell of Bobo cooking a big breakfast. When he was at home, he tended a large garden. Fresh vegetables were always served to anyone who happened to be visiting around suppertime at Nina’s and Bobo’s.

Everett served the church in many capacities throughout his life. He was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, and a deacon. He was instrumental in building and starting a new church, Cloverdale Assembly of God. He generously gave his time and money to help spread the Gospel, frequently donating to ministries and missionaries and participating in many mission trips. He was passionate about spreading the Word of God and served as a Gideon, purchasing and distributing Bibles and sharing his testimony with others.

If you were at his house early in the morning, you would overhear him praying and thanking God for another day. He is now with the Savior who redeemed him.
