GLENDA MARIE RAUPP

1939 - 2024

DES PLAINES - Glenda Marie Raupp (nee Jones), 84, passed away on January 4, 2024. Glenda was born in Grandfield, Oklahoma on August 12, 1939. She married the late Eugene "Gene" Raupp in Wichita Falls, Texas, and they had 47 years together. Glenda supported Gene's military career while working at O'Hare's military base before they started a family. They were longtime members of St. Stephen Protomartyr and started the food pantry together. She was dedicated to family, the Catholic church and school. She served as President of the School Board, a religious educator, the President of Rosary Altar, Vice-President and President for the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women and Vicariate 1. She received Woman of the Year in 1997 and a Life-Time Achievement Award in 2019 from her parish. Glenda is survived by her children, Annette L. Bulat, Raymond D. (Robin) Raupp, Ronald G. (Elizabeth) Raupp, and Diana M. (Christopher) Addante; grandchildren, Jacob Bulat, Lucas Bulat, Brieana Bulat, Ryan (Megan) Raupp, Rachel (David) Baumann, Ross Raupp, Alexis Addante, Nicholas Addante, and Joseph Raupp; great-grandchildren, Delaney Raupp, Nolan Raupp, Adelene Baumann, and Harrison Baumann; her brothers and sister, Sonny (Sharron) Jones, Caroline (the late Dale) Bickmore, Ray Don (Madonna) Jones, and Carl (Renee) DeSpain. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Hiss and RD Jones. A visitation for Glenda will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines. A prayer service will be at 7:00 PM. Then, on Friday, January 12, 2024, there is a prayer service at 9:15 AM at Oehler Funeral Home, before a mass at 10:00 AM at St. Stephen's (Mary Mother of Martyrs),1280 Prospect Avenue, Des Plaines, concluding with a graveside service at St. Mary Cemetery, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove. Please consider donating canned goods for the church's food pantry if attending any part of the services in honor of Glenda and Gene.
