Fallis Ray Black

Fallis Ray Black, age 88, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at the Bowling Green Medical Center. He was born on June 8, 1937, to the late Valentine Houston Black and Goldie Marie Hazel Black.
In addition to his parents, Fallis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Merline Lewis Black, and his son, Charles Grimes Jr.
Fallis proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Korea during his service. Throughout his life, he worked as a mechanic and farmer, professions that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication.
Fallis is survived by his son, Terry Wayne Grimes; three grandchildren, Darren Wayne Grimes (T.J.), Jennifer Grimes Johnson, and Terra Arnold; and five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Wesley, Seth, Austin, Emily, Wesley Duncan, Tristan and Kaylee.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel. Cremation will take place afterward, with a private family service and burial of ashes at Bowling Green Gardens to be held at a later date.
