Fannie Otelia (Rankins) Privott 84 passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Bertie County, NC on January 15, 1940, to the late James and Verlie Rankins. Fannie moved to Middletown, CT with her late husband Clarence Privott Sr. in 1968. Fannie was a dedicated member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Middletown. When Fannie arrived in Middletown, she did domestic work for many years and had a very personal and close relationship with the Shapiro family. She also was employed by Durham Manufacturer in Durham for 27 years until she retired.
Fannie is survived by her children. One daughter Cynthia (Privott) Herring of Middletown, CT. Four sons Rodney (Arcena) Privott of Middletown, CT Luster (Sandrus) Privott of Boiling Springs, SC, Ricky (Damita) Privott of Charlotte, NC and Marvin (Denise) Privott of Middletown, CT. She also is survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 12 great- great grandchildren. She is survived by a special niece Jewel Privott of Middletown, CT and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by countable friends and lives touched.
Fannie was predeceased by her oldest son Clarence Ray Privott, 7 brothers: Luther Rankins, Willie Rankins, Levelle Rankins, Jessie Rankins, James Rankins, Leroy Rankins and Robert Rankins. 5 sisters Queenie Outlaw, Verlie Sessoms, Annie Wilson, Alice Rankins-Privott and Rose Rankins-Boone, two granddaughters Tykema Privott and Demetria Privott and one great grandson Juwan Herring.
