I was about to call Farris today and wish him a happy birthday when I found his obituary. He was my best friend when we were in the Army together at Fort Belvoir and in Japan. He is one of the finest human beings I have ever known.

I offer my sincere condolences to Karen, Ed, and to the entire family, and to all that I know will miss Farris. He was such a gracious and warm man. He was always such a gentleman and so pleasant to talk to. I always looked forward to the times when I would go to his candy store. He treated everyone that came in as if they were the most important one in there. I believe there are many others that would say the same. I was privileged to have known you, Farris. God bless you.
