Faun Barnhart, born on April 5, 1920, in Taneyville, MO, to Job and Rosa Hobbs, peacefully passed away at home on July 30, 2024, at the remarkable age of 104. Faun led a life filled with love, dedication, and service to her family and community.
On January 21, 1939, Faun secretly eloped to Arkansas with her beloved husband, C.W. "Jack" Barnhart, just before graduating from Spokane High School. Their marriage blossomed over 56 wonderful years until Jack's passing in 1995. Together, they proudly operated a Grade A milk farm, an endeavor that earned them the honor of being featured on the cover of Hoard's Dairy Magazine.
Faun was a pillar of her community. She served as the president of the PTA, was an active member of the Library Club, and worked as a Teacher Assistant. Her commitment to youth was evident in her role as a 4-H Leader, where she influenced countless young lives. Faun also played an essential role in county elections, ensuring the democratic process ran smoothly.
Beyond her public service, Faun had a deep love for cooking, gardening, and preserving vegetables. Her gardens, vibrant with flowers, were a testament to her green thumb and her passion for the outdoors. Faun's happiest moments were spent under the open sky, tending to her plants and soaking in the beauty of nature.
Faun Barnhart leaves behind a legacy of hard work, community service, and a profound love for life. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community members whose lives she touched so deeply.
Faun accepted Christ and became a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church during the early years of marriage. Jack accepted Christ as his savior when he was about 40 years old. They were very involved and loyal to this church the rest of their lives.
Faun is survived by her children Flo Allen and spouse David, and Eric Barnhart and spouse Sandra, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Faun is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, son Phil, grandson Nick, and brothers Homard, Elmer, and Eunice, and sisters Zena, Leva, and Delores.
