I met Fawn on August 4th, 2024, while camping at Strough Reservoir. I was camping at site #8 when she pulled up with 5 dogs and 3 little girls. Daya, Jasmin, and Rylan. I was impressed with this woman who had so much care and love in her heart. We chatted about life, the loss of her husband, love of music festivals and dogs. She was watching over the girls as "something was going on with the adults in their lives". Fawn was kind and good with the children.
I often paint and journal my experiences. I happened to recently read in the newspaper about Fawns passing, I am deeply saddened and this puts into perspective the fragility of life and to savor precious moments as we never know what´s next. While camping I had painted the reservoir where I met Fawn, and one of the little girls, Daya, painted a self portrait in my journal. This was a lovely day and I met a kind spirit, passing through.

I am grateful for this chance meeting and shared conversation with Fawn Goodwin. Rest in Peace.
