Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes - RochesterFay Drescher, age 93, entered eternity July 26, 2025.
Fay attended the Eau Claire State Teachers College, now the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, for one year. Fay then received a BA degree from North Central College, Naperville, Illinois. Following graduation Fay was employed for 2 years at the Institute of Paper Chemistry. Fay was then employed by Kroehler Manufacturing Co., also in Naperville.
Fay married James Drescher in 1956. In June 1966, the family moved to Rochester, Minnesota where she continued to live until her death.
Fay was active in Evangel Church for over 48 years and served as the church secretary for 23 years before retiring in 1992. She also served on the Missions commission, the adult library committee and taught Sunday School. She also canned and froze food from her large garden. She enjoyed reading, quilting, working with stained glass, traveling, hiking and playing piano. Fay hiked into the Grand Canyon several times. She gave her quilts and other crafts to friends and family. She donated over 75 quilts she made to Ironwood Spring Christian Ranch. For 8 years after retiring, Fay and her husband spent several months during winter in Texas.
Fay wants to be remembered as a follower of Jesus and "as being kind, considerate, concerned about the people I met in my secretary job at church and elsewhere. An enjoyer of God's world -- Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, the mountains, the desert, flowers, beauty, hiking, animals, color and form..."
A service in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM, October 11, 2025, at Evangel United Methodist Church, 2645 N Broadway Ave in Rochester, Minnesota, with Rev. David Werner officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will take place at SE Minnesota Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota at a later date.
She is survived by a son, daughter, brother, and several cousins.
