Faye Botkin Ballinger

Faye Botkin Ballinger, a beacon of faith and love, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in Lexington, KY, at the age of 86. Born on September 16, 1939, in Paint Lick, KY, she was a daughter to the late Charles and Helen Turner Botkin. Faye's life was a testament to her unwavering belief in God and her dedication to her family and community.

Faye was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Daniel "Tony" Ballinger, and her siblings, Glenwood Botkin, Frieda Wuskell, Ella Frazier, and Jean Botkin. Her legacy continues through her loving sons, Danny (Marilyn) Ballinger and Travis (Sharon) Ballinger; her adoring grandchildren, Robert (Dakota) Ballinger, Ryan Ballinger, Alyssa (Micah) Hughes, and Thaddeus Ballinger; and her great-grandchild, Marcie Kate Ballinger. Faye's memory will also be cherished by her siblings, Judy Kate (John) Clark, Hyla Bright, Marian Lambert, and Michael Botkin, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Faye's entrepreneurial spirit led her to become a self-employed business owner and a respected hairdresser in her community. Her work was not just a profession but a ministry, as she touched the lives of many through her kindness and listening ear.

A devout Christian, Faye was a member of the Berea Church of God. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She relished in being with her family, attending prayer meetings, engaging in benevolence work, and serving as a prayer warrior. Her commitment to her faith and church was evident in every aspect of her life.

Those who knew Faye would describe her as faith-filled. She embodied the love of Christ and was a guiding light to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her unwavering faith, compassionate heart, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to cross paths with her.

Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Berea Church of God, with Pastor Travis Ballinger, Pastor Stephen Hobbs, and Opal Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening at the church from 5 pm to 8 pm. Lakes Funeral Home is in charge of these services.

Pallbearers will be Robert Ballinger, Ryan Ballinger, Thaddeus Ballinger, Mark Woodley, Chris Clark, and Charlie Clark. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Berea Church of God Building Fund, 189 Rash Rd., Berea, KY 40403.
