John Kenneth Caldwell

John Kenneth (Butch) Caldwell of Richmond passed away on March 11, 2026 at Kenwood Health and Rehabilitation in Richmond. He was born In Berea, Kentucky on October 21, 1946, to the late John A. and Dorothy McCollum Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Barbara Bates Caldwell and Anita Carol Roberts. He is survived by numerous cousins. He graduated from Madison Central High School and Eastern Kentucky University. John served in Vietnam and trained as a Military Policeman, then as a Sentry Dog Handler with the 212th Military Police Company. After the Army, Butch devoted his life to public service with the Kentucky Department of Employment Services and retired after 30 years. Funeral services will be Tuesday March 17, 2026, at 2 pm at Lakes Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard McCollum officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Paint Lick Cemetery at Manse. The family will have visitation Tuesday from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm.
