Easley, SC

 

Faye Spencer Burton, 84, of Duvall Street, beloved wife of the late Lawrence Clayton Burton, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023.

 

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Garnett F. Spencer and Christine Davis Spencer.

 

Mrs. Burton was a homemaker who adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing for her family, especially making quilts, and cooking and crocheting.

 

Surviving are her sons, Keith Burton and Mark Burton (Rhonda) all of Easley; grandchildren, Joshua Starnes (Shea) of Norman, OK, and Ryan Burton of Easley; great-grandchildren, Ellery and Finley Starnes; a brother-in-law, Emmett Snyder of Mauldin; and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Ruth “Totsie” Edwards, Mable Vaughn, and Anna Lou Snyder, and a brother, James Spencer.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. The burial will be in Graceland West Cemetery.

 

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

 

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Cottingham Hospice House for their love and care during the last days of Mrs. Burton’s life.

 

The family will be at the home of the son, Mark Burton.
