New Ellenton, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Faye Padgett Durham, age 71, will be held 1:00 pm on Monday January 19, 2026, at Talatha Baptist Church with Pastor Jordan Bird officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Seekers Sunday School Class of Talatha Baptist Church. Faye entered into the presence of Jesus on Friday January 16, 2026, after a courageous health battle. She was the beloved wife of 43 years to the late Mr. Ray Durham and a daughter to the late Mr. Joe Padgett and the late Mrs. Edith Abercrombie Padgett. Faye was born in Oconee County and lived most of her life in the Pickens area. She moved to New Ellenton in 2017. Faye was of the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of Talatha Baptist Church. There, she was a part of the Seekers Sunday School Class and a faithful choir member. She joyfully served in music and women’s ministries. Faye worked in the medical field for over 35 years. She valued people of all ages, welcoming and loving all of those around her. Faye’s heart for the Lord and others encouraged countless lives. She remained steadfast through many challenges in her life, especially in the last few years. She will be truly missed by all those who loved her. Survivors include: her daughter Deanna (John) Braswell, New Ellenton, SC; two brothers Jowayne (Faye) Padgett, Pickens, SC, and Lavant (Kay) Padgett, Liberty, SC; two grandchildren Rachel and Bruce Braswell; and several nieces, nephews, and beloved extended family. Additionally, Faye was preceded in death by her sister Patsy Connelly, whom she loved dearly. A visitation with the family will take place from 11:00-12:45 on Monday January 19, 2026, at Talatha Baptist Church.
