Faye Walker Lanier, 88, of Durham passed away on June 6, 2025, at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. Mrs. Lanier was born on January 27, 1937, in Person County to the late Luther Thomas and Rachel Clayton Walker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lanier is predeceased by her husband of 47 years Chinnis Lanier, Sr.; brothers Ronald and Jerry Walker.
Mrs. Lanier is survived by her son, Chinnis “Chuck” Lanier, Jr. of Cary, NC, and granddaughter, Lindsey Charlotte Lanier of Brooklyn, NY.
Faye was a lifelong resident of the Bethesda community and a proud graduate of Bethesda High School, Class of 1955. She was a devoted member of Bethesda Baptist Church, where she faithfully sang in the choir for many years and was active in the Bethesda Prime Timers group, cherishing time spent with her church friends.
Deeply committed to her community, Faye was involved with the North Carolina Agricultural Extension for many years. She also served in the Bethesda Ruritan Ladies Auxiliary and later as a dedicated member of the Bethesda Ruritan Club. Her life was marked by service, fellowship, and a deep love for the community she called home.
