Faye Ann Maus

Faye Ann Maus of Osakis passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Galeon Nursing Home in Osakis, MN at the age of 85 years.

Faye was born on August 22, 1938 to John and Freda (Wendlandt) Kasmaker in Osakis, MN.  She attended Osakis High School and on December 7, 1954, Faye married the love of her life, Dwayne Maus at the Osakis Lutheran Church.   After living in Osakis for a number of years, they settled on a hobby farm outside of Osakis.  Faye loved gardening, especially growing flowers, and watching the birds she attracted to her feeders. She was an excellent cook and baker, and enjoyed sharing her talent with family and friends.

During the early 1980’s, Faye and Dwayne were the owners of the Tip Top Dairy Bar in Osakis.  She took pride in her ownership, and loved spending her days with the employees and customers.

Faye was a member of the Osakis Lutheran Church and served in the Rebekah women’s circle. She loved following her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and cheering on the Vikings and the Packers (she did not see the latter as a conflict of interests).  Faye enjoyed getting together with family and friends for games and socializing.  She was a trivia expert!  She loved her family and was so proud of all of their accomplishments.  She was a woman of faith who had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and a kind and caring wife, mother and grandma.

Faye is survived by her children, Sherry (Mike) Meyer of Shawnee, KS, Debra (Shawn) Maus of Dilworth, Jeff (Lori) Maus of Buffalo and Lisa Olson of Glenwood; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Jane Kasmaker of Alexandria, sister-in-law Marlys Anderson of Port Charlotte, FL and brother-in-law, Darwin (Carol) Maus of Osakis; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dwayne, her parents John and Freda, her brothers Ruben and Leroy Kasmaker, her niece Karen Christianson, and her nephew Shannon Maus.

Funeral services for Faye will be Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Osakis Lutheran Church with Minister George Heideman officiating, with a gathering time beginning at 1:00 pm at the church. 

Interment is at the East Evergreen Cemetery in Osakis, MN.  Active pallbearers are Ryan Williams, Brent Williams, Mike Fiedler, Mike Meyer, Shawn Farsdale, and Jeff Maus. Honorary pallbearers are AJ & Holly Meyer, Alex & Paige Meyer, Jolie Fiedler, Amanda Maus, Benjamin Maus, and Shea Olson.
