In Loving Memory of Faye Sexton
Faye “Nana” Sexton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at her home in Horn Lake. She was born January 17, 1959, in Tupelo, the daughter of Robert Clark Fowler and Loraine Hopkins Fowler. After high school, Faye pursued her passion for caring for others by becoming a licensed practical nurse. Her dedication spanned many years as she diligently served and nurtured those in need. Faye's work ethic was unparalleled, and she approached her nursing career with kindness and compassion. In recent years, Faye discovered the world of social media and enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and staying up to date with the lives of her family on Facebook.
Faye was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Bobby Taylor; her second husband, Billy Sexton; a daughter, Brandy Gilbreath; a brother, James Fowler; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Dunaway.
Left behind to carry on Faye's legacy are two daughters: Amy Chapman and her husband Lance of Horn Lake and Chelsea Darling and her husband Mark of Southaven. Faye was affectionately called Nana by a rich tapestry of grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life: Cody Chapman, Jordan Capps and her husband Dylan, Brittany Vega and her husband Zach, Olivia Gilbreath, Brooklyn Gilbreath, Landon Brassfield, Ally Brassfield, Leah Brassfield, Kayleigh Furniss, and Braylen Darling. Additionally, Faye is survived by three great-grandchildren who brought light to her days: Isabel Chapman, Lily Vega, and Laila Vega. Faye also leaves behind her sister Linda Dunaway and her brothers Johnny Fowler and wife, Donna, and Tommy Fowler; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held to honor Faye's memory at 2 p.m. on December 16, 2023, at the Andrews Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Roger Graham officiating. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.
