Faye Todd Obituary

Faye Parsons Todd Mt. Pleasant - Faye Parsons Todd, 83, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Edwin Ray Todd, Sr., entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 3, 2022. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive, at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until time of the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. Faye was born August 12, 1939, in Sampson County, North Carolina, daughter of the late W. Albert Parsons and Ada Best Parsons. She was a graduate of New Bern High School in North Carolina, and earned her degree in Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 1961. She was the only woman in her graduating class. She worked for over 30 years as the Pharmacy Director at Charleston Memorial Hospital and after retiring in 1997 she worked as the interim Pharmacy Director at East Cooper Hospital then as a part-time pharmacist with Omnicare Pharmacy and Healthquest Pharmacy. Faye was a co-founder, along with her daughter, Laura, of the Charleston Autism Academy, a local autism therapy clinic for children with autism which operated from 2009-2017. Faye's grandson, Aaron, has autism and attended the Academy along with many other children who benefited from this program. She served selflessly as the manager of CAA for most of the years it was in existence, volunteering her days to the cause of helping her grandson. Faye was a faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. She served in many different capacities within the church, teaching Sunday School, hosting Bible studies, directing the Women's Missionary Union, singing in the choir. She loved the Lord and loved the First Baptist Church. She taught her children and grandchildren to love the Lord through her example. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ray Todd; her daughter, Laura Misenhelter (Henry Wilfong) of Huger, SC; her son, Edwin Ray Todd, Jr. (Michelle) of Mount Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren - Aaron Todd Misenhelter, Logan Matthew Todd (Ashton), and William Bradley Todd; her sister, Willa Dean Daughtry of Newton Grove, NC; and her "sister" cousin, Shirley Bass. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Hazel P. Tinnin. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. Ms Todd was one of the most kind people I have ever met. As a new pharmaceutical representative in Charleston in the 90s, she took me under her wing and helped me be successful. A kind soul and a gentle spirit who was a blessing to my life. Richard Johnson

Faye Todd was one of the best pharmacists I ever had the pleasure of working with. Her cheerfulness was infectious and her faith was evident in the "do unto others" approach she had as a manager. I'm sure she will be missed by all who knew & loved her. May God bless her soul and grant her eternal rest.
