Winsteads' Funeral Home - PortlandFelipe Ramirez Torres, born on October 12, 1950, in Caldwell Texas, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a cherished member of his family and community, known for his infectious spirit and love for life.
Felipe was a man of many passions. He lived life with joy, and dancing, which was a focal point of his existence. His love for movement and rhythm translated into a deep appreciation for dancing, which he loved to do. Additionally, he had an unyielding passion for golfing, spending many afternoons on the green, sharing laughter and stories with friends. He was also a devoted member of the Catholic Church and frequent member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Adoration Chapel.
Felipe is survived by his beloved wife, Idolina Torres; their son, Felipe Torres, and daughter-in-law, Becky Torres; as well as their daughter, Norma Torres, and son-in-law, Michael Casarez. He was a proud grandfather to Annaka Torres and her husband Jerimiah, Abran Rodriguez, Emma Aguillen and her husband Darwin, and Ryan Casiano and his wife Hannah, and Sophie Torres. His legacy is further enriched by the addition of his great-grandchildren, Idolina Aguillen and Rocky Castillo and his many beloved nieces and nephews.
Felipe also leaves behind his beloved siblings, brothers; Gabino Torres and his wife Ofelia, Cande Torres and his wife Dora, Juan Torres, and sisters; Nora Ortiz, and Maggie Rojas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen and Ernesto Torres, and his six siblings: Neto Torres, Martin Torres, Alejandro Torres, Julian Torres, and Lupe Munoz, as well as his sister, Ramona Martinez, whose memories will always be cherished.
Family and friends are invited to honor Felipe's life at the services held at Winsteads' Funeral Home located at 500 Wildcat Drive, Portland, Texas, with visitation on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 5:00 PM followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated in his honor the following day, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft, Texas, starting at 10:00 AM.
Felipe Ramirez Torres will be remembered as a vibrant soul whose commitment to his passions and love for family left a lasting impact on all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of his loved ones.
