Felisita Faye Sustaita

Felisita Faye Sustaita, 75, passed away on September 7, 2025. Born on July 12, 1950, in Coahoma, Mississippi to Mary and Felix Orta, Faye spent her formative years in the South before relocating to Texas with her family.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 2pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Wade Family Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas. A reception and rosary will follow at the funeral home.

At the age of 15, she married Phillip Wayne Sisk, Sr. Faye later pursued her education, earning a degree as a Psychological Assistant from VTI Academy and a Psychology degree from Phoenix University. She took great pride in completing the Dale Carnegie Course, which sparked further achievements in her career.

Faye's diverse skills and passions reflected her vibrant life. She enjoyed working on cars, racing, and participated in demolition derbies. A devoted NASCAR fan, she greatly admired Dale Earnhardt’s grit and determination. Her professional journey spanned business and technology, including a notable contribution to the chess game Boris in the late 1970s. Additionally, she served as an ordained minister for over 25 years.

Despite often juggling two jobs, Faye made family a priority, cherishing outings to Lavon Lake. She had a deep love for animals, particularly horses, wolves, and tigers, believing they were “always honest with their intentions.”

A proud Texan, Faye supported numerous causes close to her heart, including Disabled Veterans, homelessness relief, the American Heart Association, Mission Arlington, Meals on Wheels, and the DAV. In 2009, she received a PTA Lifetime Membership from The Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers, recognizing her distinguished service to children and youth. Faye actively participated in the PTA every year from 2005 to 2018.

She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Higinio Sustaita Jr., her daughter Paula Faye Sisk, and her grandson Dillon Alexander Sisk, whom she helped raise and adored. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Cecily Ann Sisk, Phillip Wayne Sisk III, Victoria Sisk, Justin Sisk, Kiki Sisk, Sara Sisk, and Wyatt Sisk, as well as her great-grandchild Alaina Raie Penquite.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Felix Orta; her son, Phillip Wayne Sisk, Jr.; her parents-in-law, Delbert and Dorothy Sisk; Father-in-law Higinio Sustaita, Sr.; and siblings Rosa Olivio, Carmen Sanchez, Alberta Carasco, Lily Ochoa, Beatrice Salazar, Mini Duque, Andy Sustaita, and Thomas Lee Sisk.

Faye’s life was characterized by her strength, generosity, curiosity, and profound love for her family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
