Felix Silvan Armstrong

Mr. Felix S. (Van) Armstrong transitioned on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Van was born September 1, 1953, to Felix Raymond Armstrong and Mae Willie (McCraw) Armstrong in Battle Creek, MI. He attended Battle Creek Central High School.
On February 14, 1987, Van married the love of his life, Paula M. Wilson in Kalamazoo, MI. From this union, they had two daughters, Chonda and Jennifer Armstrong.
Van was employed at International Paper as a Forklift Manager until he was injured in 2009. He also Volunteered at a WMU and Local Elementary schools. He loved music, going to at least 9 concerts with friends, Building model cars with his grandson, and grilling and hanging out with his family. Van truly enjoyed traveling, his favorite places were Indianapolis, Atlanta, Alabama, and South Carolina. He also had a love for cars going to almost every car show in the surrounding area. He loved to fix things and work on cars before his illness.
Van was preceded in death by his parent, Felix, and Mae Willie Armstrong; his sister, Annie Hunt; his brother, James Salter of Alabama; and his niece, Tianna Hunt.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife Paula of 37 years. Three daughters: Chonda and Jennifer Armstrong of Kalamazoo, MI, and Donyanoatta Johnson of Virginia; one son: Jerome McKinley, III of Kalamazoo, MI; Six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one goddaughter Kaniece McKinley; one godson Bryce Hopper; sisters: Lenora L. Armstrong and Rosie Armstrong both of Battle Creek, MI; Nora Hutchinson of Dothan, AL, and Pam (Avon) Williams-Bailey of Thomasville, NC; Brothers: Larry, Ronnie and Michael Armstrong of Battle Creek, MI, and Jerry Salters of Dothan, Alabama. Special friends Richie Hopper, Brandon Bowman, Bradley Fields, Deon McKinley, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
